mBS Smart Home SDK

The market of network equipment is rapidley changing. Revenue models shift from vertial product sales to integrated, value adding services subscription models. Digital convergence of TV, Access, Entertainment and Communication services and the ever decreasing innovation life-cycles redefine the requirments for home network devices. Rather than developing separate hardware solutions for each new service, the future is in open, manageable multi-service devices that can dynamically and efficiently adopt new services on the fly, reducing time to market significantly.

The key enabling technology is intelligent gateway middleware which is capable of loading new software services at any time while delivering out of the box enhancements to quality of service, security, customer care and reliability. With that vision in mind, the OSGi Alliance has developed the OSGi open services middleware standard. ProSyst has helped to drive this standard for more than a decade – and offers a leading implementation.

On top of ProSyst own OSGi implementation, mBS Smart Home SDK comes with a set of additional components which form a powerful and easily extensible stack for building OSGi-based products for the connected home.
