mBS Mobile SDK

The mBS Mobile SDK is our offering to developers and ISVs who create mobile OSGi components and applications. It thus complements our selection of mBS Mobile Runtimes with a variety of Eclipse based tools that greatly enhance development productivity.

The mBS Mobile SDK directly connects the Eclipse IDE with a target device (connected through USB or WiFi) or device emulator (Android and Windows Mobile).

Key Features

The mBS Mobile SDK consists of a number of Eclipse Plugins providing functionality including:

• Remote console access to the mBS Mobile Runtime from Eclipse
• Remote software and configuration management from Eclipse, including OSGi bundles, deployment packages, widgets, remote management configurations, and more
• Automatic remote deployment of Eclipse plug-in projects (bundles) and deployment packages in normal, profile or debug mode
• Broad target device support:
  - Android 1.5 and 1.6 devices and emulator
  - Windows Mobile 6.0, 6.1 and 6.5 devices and emulator
  - Brew 4.x devices
  - Windows 32 OSGi emulator
  - Nokia S60 3.1, 3.2 and 5.0 devices (coming soon)
  
• Connecting to a remote OMA DM server, such as ProSyst mPower Remote Manager, and uploading applications to a backend software repository

The SDK consists of the following contents:

• Eclipse update sites containing all Eclipse Plugins
• Extensive Developer Guide
• Demo projects including binaries and source code
• mBS Mobile Runtimes (for development purposes only)
• Device-side mBS Mobile Runtime tooling extensions
