COLOGNE, Germany, March 4, 2008 - ProSyst Software GmbH
» www.prosyst.com,
an OSGi pioneer, announced today that a consortium led by RWE
Energy was selected by "Bundesministerium fr Wirtschaft und
Technologie" (BMWi) in the context of the "e-energy" call for
bids.
With the help of the information
and communication technology that will be developed by the
project consortium, customers will be able to adjust their
energy consumption to the actual electricity tariff. This will
help to increase energy efficiency. Smart and connected home
appliances will be activated with the help of a customer
friendly control unit when the electricity is particularly
favorable.
"We expect that midterm the growing number of requirements will
lead to a necessity of intelligent and efficient solutions for
the energy industry", explains Dr. Werner Roos, Member of the
Executive Board of RWE Energy AG, responsible for
transportation and grid. "In this context, the
E-Energy-approach will extensively contribute to improvement
of energy efficiency."
ProSyst will mainly focus on providing the OSGi middleware
software and taking care of the device integration.
ProSyst's mBedded Server is a high performance and low
footprint OSGi container, which is R4 certified. mBedded
Server allows dynamic deployment of services and applications
after manufacturing. Those new components can be remotely
installed, started, stopped, updated on the fly, removed,
re-installed, etc.
"We are very pleased to be part of the RWE consortium and
E-Energy. We are very much looking forward to the project,"
said Thomas Hott, CEO of ProSyst. "It is another example that
shows our leading position in the OSGi and Smart home domain."
