mBS Smart Home Extension provides a set of generic components
which facilitate and accelerate the development of products
in the so-called "smart home" segment. It covers various scenarios
for building home systems - using residential gateways, intelligent
home control panels, tablets, advanced remote controls, media
centers, set-top boxes, etc.
Key Features
- Support for wide spread residential area networks (EHS,
EIB, LON, UPNP, x10), accessed by using unified programming
interface.
- Reliable local database for storing application data.
- Support for serial and parallel interfaces for debugging
or for integration of external devices (modems, smart cards,

the (e)SWT, AWT and mGUI library.

which can be rendered on device's native Web browser or
on the ProSyst Java-based Web browser.
- Integration for several operating systems with the native
desktop of smart home devices so that OSGi applications
are directly started from the screen.
mBS Smart Home Extension works on top of both, mBS Equinox
Edition and mBS Professional Edition. This extension is delivered
as a set of installation packages which are listed below.
